David Delisca is a Toronto Poetry Slam alumni and four-time member of the Toronto Poetry Slam Team, winners of the 2013 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word national competition in Montreal. Born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, David Delisca is a spoken word poet, writer, actor and comedian. A versatile artist, he uses stories about the immigrant and diasporic experience, as well as other various human realities, to bridge realms of communication.As an arts educator and facilitator, he has lead hundreds of sessions throughout Canada, with various initiatives, using art to focus on such subjects as social justice, anti-bullying and hip-hop, among other topics. He is also a founder and creator of art based social engagement projects, Right Beside You and a collective member of the Spoke N’ Heard.
